Hey y’all! I’m the founder of Mental Health Tings! My name is Kiana; I’m a 29 year old writer living in New York City. I’m passionate about Jesus, and people. I’ve been living with a dual diagnoses of Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar 2 Disorder for seven years now and am still getting the hang of managing my symptoms. When I’m not writing I can be found singing show tunes at the top of my lungs. Thanks for reading about/ being a part of my journey! :)

Hello, hello! My name is Anna and I help Kiana with her content marketing, which is also what I do professionally since graduating with a BA in Communications. I am 25 and a southern girl from Georgia (though I live in Salt Lake City, Utah), and I have been a public mental health advocate for 8 years after receiving the anxious-procrastinator trifecta diagnoses of anxiety, depression, and ADHD. My heart was stolen by classical ballet at age 2 and a galaxy far, far away at 16, and I believe that there is strength in softness, compassion, and vulnerability.

Thanks for all of your support!!

Hi! My name is Val, and I’m the graphic and print design contributor for Mental Health Tings. I have a deep love for color harmony and all things design. Rainbows remind me that God redeems out of disaster and keeps his promises. In my free time, I can be found listening to Enya and daydreaming about what my life would’ve been like if I’d been born in the Shire. I’m honored to be part of the inspiring work happening here at MHT!

About The Blog

I started talking openly about my mental health and my hangups with faith in 2017 after I attempted to end my life Christmas Eve 2016. Since I started sharing my story, I have experienced an outpouring of love and support. My vulnerability attracted others to me and I began having a lot of conversations with people who have their own struggles with mental health which made me realize that we are not alone in this. I’m hoping that our culture continues changing to allow people the space to be open about their experiences. My hope in starting this blog is that it would give people the courage to start being more vulnerable, for our collective well-being. My desire is that this blog would help someone who is struggling with their mental health, or help you learn how to be a better ally to someone who is.
